For godly wisdom to guide President-Elect Barack Obama as he chooses who will serve in his administration as the Secretary of State, that our relationships with other nations will be strengthened
Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their cry.
—Psalm 34:14-15All-wise God, thank You that knowledge and understanding are found in You alone. You are the source of all wisdom, and we praise You for offering to us Your endless insight and understanding.
Lord, the position of Secretary of State is pivotal for our nation in this time of international concern. We need a person of even temper and calm resolve who can bring reconciliation and unity. Lord, give Your direction and wisdom to the President Elect in the choice of this key member of his administration. Let Your will be clear and confirmed in his heart as he selects from many qualified servants. We thank You, Lord, for providing this knowledge to our new President, in the name of Jesus, amen.

December 1, 2008When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. (Proverbs 3:24)
When Christ is our life, we have nothing to fear. Our rest can be sweet because we have a God who neither slumbers nor sleeps. And He is always watching over those whom He loves. May you be at peace while trusting in the arms of your Saviour.

Blue Letter Bible
November 30, 2008For the Lord will not cast off for ever: But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. (Lamentations 3:31-33)
Great is the faithfulness of the Lord. Sometimes it seems that He is at such a great distance, yet still He is near. And though it may seem that we are alone in our trials, yet still He is near. His kingdom is come—enter it by faith! Know that you are at His right hand, O believer, and know that He loves you!
