90 Days: Occupying for Justice and Freedom

On March 5, 2009, a most significant court case in history was held. The Supreme Court in California listened to arguments from those striving to overturn the vote won by the people of CA, passing Proposition 8, which legally defines marriage as being solely between a man and a woman.
This isn't just about Prop8 and marriage; it's about upholding justice and freedom; and the nation is watching. If the Court overturns Prop 8 (90 days from today, 3/5), it will set a MAJOR precedent that will allow judicial power to preside over the will of the people...perhaps with no regard of the issue.

Lou Engle wrote: "The California State Senate just ruled against the peoples’ vote and asked the court to overthrow the defining of marriage as between a man and a woman. Senator Leno likened the people who voted for Prop 8 to the Germans who voted for the Nazi Regime."

(Ha! Hitler deceived the Germans, just like someone else we know deceived our nation) So he thinks we're like Hitler's army? We're soldiers for the Lord Jesus Christ! We're a chosen generation! A royal priesthood! A HOLY nation! A peculiar people (purchased; His possession) who should be showing forth the praises of Him! He's called us out of darkness into HIS marvelous light!!

The problem is that we haven't collectively stood for Truth. Has the salt lost its savor? Have we corporately loved our lives? Scripture says that those who overcome don't love their lives unto the death.

1 Corinthians 10:11Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

We need to be standing...standing strongly without wavering. And if we can't stand, then we need to humble ourselves and turn from our own wicked ways so that we can seek God's face; otherwise, He won't hear us.

90 days. The Lord has graced us, His children in this nation, with 90 days to turn and seek Him. As scripture advises, let us not despise His chastening in the process, for He only chastens those He loves.

We need to do this. We need to occupy until He comes. 90 days of serious prayer and fasting is (hopefully) a good start. The prodigal son being welcomed by his Father comes to mind. Whatever you fast, how much and how long is between you and the Lord; and it doesn't have to be food; and it can be multiple things alternated over shorter periods of time.

I am mindful that:
* God is in control
* We've been in the last days since the NT was written (Heb. 1:2)
* No one knows the day of Christ's return.
Therefore, I will be mindful that all these events may well be in His plan for returning Jesus for us (Even so, come, Lord Jesus).
This occupying, therefore, is not intended to be a hinderance or an accelerator; but, according to the Greek, is a busying of oneself, i.e., to trade. I believe occupying is to be active in the work of Christ on earth for His kingdom to come. What do you want to be found occupied with?

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Are you called by His name? Then you know what to do.

Jesus is returning for a Bride who is ready.

Statement of Beliefs:
We believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that He is the only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin, who gave His life on a cross to atone for mankind's sin. We believe He descended and then rose on the third day, according to scripture, and ascended to the Father's right hand, where He lives and reigns forevermore as the King of kings and Lord of lords. We believe that He is coming again VERY soon to take those who believe in Him with their hearts and confess Him with their mouths to reign with Him eternally.
Specifically, we believe in the triune God; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe God is the Creator of all things in heaven and in earth.
We believe the Holy Bible to be the inerrant word of God, His love letter to all of mankind written to invite every man, woman and child to come into a personal relationship with Him by salvation through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
We further believe the Bible contains God's revealed will for the Church, His children, who are the innumerable saints who have by grace accepted His gift of salvation by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.
